A unique, in-person event hosted by the City of Pasadena and the Jet Propulsion Laboratory

A unique, in-person event hosted by the City of Pasadena and the Jet Propulsion Laboratory

Meet and connect with project managers, buyers, and subject matter experts from the City of Pasadena and NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL).

In recent months we've seen and reported to our followers' several open procurements from the City, both in IT goods and IT services. This event allows us to hear from the City how we might appropriately engage and connect AND also hear from JPL! According to the registration page for this event, JPL typically awards over $325 million dollars in subcontracts to small businesses each year.

Note that YB Marketing staff plans to be there and will report to our clients and followers on the information gathered.

The event will be held at the Robinson Recreational Center in Pasadena with a reported schedule as follows:

  • How to Register to do business with the City

  • The City's New E-Procurement System

  • Submitting an Electronic Bid to the City

  • Submitting a Proposal Electronically to the City

  • Network with JPL Purchasing Managers

  • JPL Current Procurement and Requirements

Working with LA County and the State - LIVE and ONLINE with industry experts

Join in with our very special guest speakers as they answer our (yours too!) questions and share unique insights into contracting and working with two of the largest buyers in the US. Collectively, Los Angeles County and the State of California report BILLIONS purchased with businesses of all sizes each year. How can a business compete and/or expand and what should we know to develop a thorough understanding of their processes, contracting vehicles, and personnel?

Our guests have spent years in working in these very markets. Rebecca will share her unique experiences in working with Los Angeles County and Chad will discuss and share his successes in working and contracting with a large number of notable state departments.

This is a free webinar and will be recorded. Your host is Matthew Kernodle from YB Marketing LLC. Feel free to forward questions via email and check back to this LinkedIn event page for more information!

Video and audio available now from our Q&A with Chad Hodges and Steve Lower + demonstration

We concluded our webinar Nov. 18th and have made the recording available to all. The 50+ minute video includes comments from Chad Hodges, well-respected and long-time partner to the California State government as well as Steve Lower, 31 years with the CA State government and the creator of a very popular contract vehicle - the Software License Program. Matthew Kernodle from YB MArketing added a demonstration of available public websites and some tips in navigating all the info in these websites for use in developing a business plan to approach the government.

The video is segmented into

First 24+ minutes - Chad answered our questions with comments related to his successes as a partner to the government and as contract winner in IT Services and IT Goods companies and his tireless work in support of veterans programs and as a DVBE (Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise).

Second 20 minutes - Steve returns to the webinar series with us adding to previous comments made and offering clarifying comments related to policy and process of the SLP program including what is BEST VALUE that departments may use in awards to those that are higher price than others BUT have a greater value to the department.

Final 10 minutes - Matt demonstrated CaleProcure and the California eBudget website for research purposes.

WE truly appreciate the time shared by Chad and Steve from their various locations! : )
